Sedimentary geology with special interest in physical stratigraphy and facies analysis of clastic sediments.

- Sedimentary feauters of MIXED (lithoclastic/bioclastic) marine deposits in the Neogene-Quaternary of Southern Italy;

- Tidalite-bearing deposits in ancient micro tidal systems;

- Distinguishing tsunami from storm deposits in Mediterranean Holocene coastal successions.

- Sequence stratigraphy of Pliocene thrust-top and thrust front successions (relationships between tectonics and sedimentation);
